Pitch is a publication that I helped to design alongside other illustrators and designers on my university course. The publication was to be handed out to the public at New Designers in London, as a way of promoting the diverse range of work from everyone on the course.
My main job throughout was to create the visual identity for both the publication and our New Designers show, with my logo being displayed on the front of the publication, along with my typeface being used as the display type throughout. I wanted to logo to be illustrative yet still memorable and clear enough to read, and chose to die cut the design as a way of reinforcing the definition of the word ‘pitch’.
Pansy is a typeface that I designed for one of my personal publication projects; a book based on the life and work of Canadian ceramicist Rachel Saunders. I wanted the typeface to be minimal, simple and easy to read, as well as organically shaped much like Rachel’s work. Pansy was also used as the display type in the Pitch publication.
